For inner-city properties, the expandable design is advantageous — the cottage arrives compact and can be manoeuvred through narrow side access, then expanded in the backyard. This avoids the access challenges that full-size portable buildings face.

Crane access may be required for properties where the cottage cannot be positioned directly from the truck. We can advise on this during a site assessment.

Melbourne properties often have narrow side passages, overhead power lines and tight street parking. The expandable cottage's compact transport form (2.5m wide) is designed to fit through standard residential access.

Check your side passage width, any height restrictions (eaves, power lines) and whether a crane can access your backyard if needed.
